Chocolate Fondue Recipes

Chocolate fondue was created by a Swiss Chef living in New York in the 1960s, and is the perfect way to stir up a dinner party. It is practically effortless to prepare and your guests can participate and enjoy a fun and delicious chocolate dessert at a relaxed pace.

Traditional Swiss Chocolate Fondue

Serves 4 | Prep: 10 min | Cooking: 10 min
Ingredients
1/3 cup whipping cream
8 ounces semi-sweet Swiss chocolate, coarsely chopped
3 tablespoons Grand Marnier (optional)

Directions
1. Bring whipping cream to simmer in heavy medium saucepan. Reduce heat to low. Add chopped chocolate and 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier (optional); whisk until mixture is smooth.
2. Remove fondue from heat and blend in remaining 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier (optional). Transfer chocolate to fondue pot. Place pot on rechaud base over cradle.
3. Serve with angel food cake pieces, lady fingers, and variety of fruit for dipping.

 

White Chocolate Amaretto Fondue

Serves 4 | Prep: 10 min | Cooking: 10 min
Ingredients
12 ounces white chocolate, grated
1 cup whipping cream
2 tablespoons amaretto liqueur, or more to taste
1/2 cup toasted chopped almonds, optional

Directions
1. In a double boiler, slowly heat white chocolate and cream, stirring constantly. When chocolate is completely melted and smooth, stir in liqueur to taste.
2. Transfer melted chocolate to a fondue pot and keep warm over low heat through candle tea light. If desired, stir in toasted nuts.
